Normalization of experimental electron impact relative cross sections

摘要
A new normalization procedure to bring the relative experimental excitation or ionization scattering data on an absolute scale is presented and demonstrated. The problem is solved beyond the first Born approximation, avoiding entirely the extrapolation through the nonphysical region. The procedure is applicable to optically allowed transitions over a wide range of scattering angles and electron impact energies.
