Student-centred education through the GPP Electronics Club: a case study

摘要
In classroom teaching, the learning process gives greater emphasis on the learning for living and technical skills development; these help students to grow economically and to score good marks in examinations. However, the student's main aim is to achieve good marks by reproducing the matter that they have learnt by heart. Classroom teaching is often teacher dominated and there is little importance given to the overall self-development of the student. To counter this, a club has been established at the Government Polytechnic Pune (GPP), in Pune, India, called the GPP Electronics Club. This club is motivated to conduct student-centred activities that are innovative in nature. The aim of this club is to improve the quality and craft skills of its members (future technicians), particularly those that are in great demand in light of the advancement of technology. This paper is the case study of the GPP Electronics Club.
