Influence of static and alternating magnetic fields on haemoglobin solutions

UV-VIS spectra were measured for aqueous solutions of haemoglobin exposed to static magnetic field (OAT) and alternating 20Hz magnetic field (0.7mT) and compared with those obtained for samples kept in low and room temperature in absence of applied magnetic field. An attempt at estimating the contribution of different haemoglobin derivatives was performed. Analysis of UV VIS spectra in three wavelength ranges: 200-350, 350-450, 450-700 nm showed that static magnetic field and low-level and low-frequency magnetic field may delay haemoglobin denaturation process.
