摘要：

This paper presents a particle swarm optimizer (PSO) with mutation operator (PSOMO) to improve the performance of standard PSO. The new algorithm includes the mutation operation that is regarded as the essential factor in improving convergence property. By introducing mutation operator, the PSOMO algorithm shows a higher calculation efficiency and a faster convergence rate. Experimental results show that PSOMO not only outperforms PSO in terms of accuracy and convergence rate but also avoids effecti- vely being trapped in local minima.
