This study attempts to provide meaningful information to relevant practitioners and institutions by identifying problems in the field of multicultural understanding education through the case of "visiting multicultural understanding education," which is conducted as part of multicultural education in schools. The research results are as follows: First, the problems that emerged from the aspect of "visiting multicultural understanding education" were "an unclear communication system", "an uneasy status of instructors", "the lack of professionalism of the instructors", and indifference from the members in the school. Second, the problems viewed from the perspective of the instructor-school teacher-student were "lack of educational competency", "schoolteacher's perception and attitude", "lack of instructor's expertise", and "lack of diversity of educational content and participation activities." Third, the problems that appeared in the field of education were "lack of connection with the school curriculum, lack of ability to use educational materials, lack of knowledge about cultural education methodology, and lack of detailed teaching skills and attitudes." The following is a summary of the improvement measures for visiting multicultural understanding education by synthesizing the above results. First, institutional support is needed to cultivate instructors specialized in multicultural understanding education. Second, it is necessary to thoroughly investigate the actual condition of education to understand multiculturalism in schools.(Busan University of Foreign Studies)
