Review of code validation studies in high-speed low-density flows

摘要：
The direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) has marked a milestone in the evolution of fluid mechanics. Over the years, a series of experiments have been undertaken for which closely matched DSMC simulations have been performed specifically for the purpose of code validation. This article provides evidence that DSMC provides valid and verifiable solutions to real engineering problems.
