Y-doped PbWO4 mesocrystals with controllable morphologies, from convex quadrangle to concave erythrocyte, which exhibit tunable optical properties, are obtained by simply increasing the Y3+ doping concentrations. A doping-induced structural disorder mechanismwas tentatively proposed to understand the evolutions of PbWO4 mesocrystals.
