High pulse energy diode-pumped Ho:Tm:LuLF laser at 2.05 μm for infared laser radar remote sensing

摘要
We report a high pulse energy, diode-pumped, eye-safe Ho:Tm:LuLF laser oscillator at 2.05-mum developed for infrared laser radar remote sensing, specially for the remote sensing of wind velocity and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The laser can operate at single pulse mode with output energy of 156 mJ per Pulse or at double pulse mode with output energy of 220 mJ per pair of pulses, the highest pulse energy from this laser oscillator to our knowledge. The optical energy conversion efficiencies of the laser are 4.6% at single pulse mode operation and 6.6% at double pulse mode operation respectively.
