Effects of MgO-LiF addition on the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of Li2MgTi3O8 ceramics

摘要
The Li2MgTi3O8 ceramics were synthesized by the traditional solid-state process. The effects of MgO-LiF additives on the sintering temperature, microwave properties and phase compositions were investigated. The results showed that the MgO-LiF additives can reduce the sintering temperature and improve the microwave dielectric properties. The main phase Li2MgTi3O8 and the second phase MgTiO3, Li2TiO3 phases could be detected from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns in the whole region of MgO-LiF additives. Typically, excellent microwave dielectric properties: epsilon(r)=25.69, Q x f=57,100 GHz, tau(f)=-4.3 ppm/degrees C were obtained for Li2MgTi3O8 ceramics sintered at 825 degrees C doped with 3 wt% MgO-3 wt% LiF additives.
