Synthesis of MCM-48 by a phase transformation process

摘要
The ordered mesoporous silicate MCM-48 has been produced from MCM-41 by a phase transformation method, which involves heating the silicate samples while they are still incompletely polymerized. Ethanol, produced by hydrolysis of the silicate source TEOS, plays a crucial role in the transformation process. In this report, we examine samples produced using various combinations of stirring and heating times with XRD and Si-29 MAS NMR and draw conclusions regarding the reasons for the transformation.
