Ground state of 3He atoms in narrow tube

摘要
The ground state of He-3 atoms confined in a narrow tube is studied by the variational Monte Carlo method. It is found that He-3 atoms condense into a liquid state in the dilute limit in a certain range of the tube radius. The relevance of this finding in a recent experiment on He-3 atoms in nanopores is discussed. The connection of the present results with those of recent studies of ultracold atoms in a quasi-one-dimensional trap is also pointed out.
