摘要
The research was aimed to analyze the trends of the learning progression to improve the students' conceptual understanding in biology. Learning progression is the way of thinking of analyzing changes in students' level of understanding at different grades or ages. Learning progression has been issued since 2009. This study reviewed the research articles and reviews published on online databases, such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Wiley Online Library. The articles were selected using PRISMA with "learning progression" and "biology concepts" as the keywords. It was found suitable articles from Google Scholar (N = 89), Science Direct (N = 24) and Wiley Online Library (N = 41). Those articles were selected based on the inclusion criteria, i.e. learning progression focused on biology from different levels of education, and finally, 13 articles were selected as the review materials. The result showed the learning progression had been developed in genetic, natural selection, evolution, ecology, and biodiversity. The review of articles with various topics showed the learning progression can improve the students' conceptual understanding in biology at different levels of education.
