Mathematical and Numerical Model of the Isotonic Smooth Muscle Contraction

The paper introduces an attempt to propose a simple model of the isotonic smooth muscle contraction which considers the influence of excitation processes on the sarcolemma and inside the muscle cell. The natural integration of the active and passive muscle tissue components and the possibility to introduce other more sophisticated models of the muscle cell stimulation are the advantages of the discussed model. The whole model has the form of the dynamical system with ten degrees of freedom. Its basic dynamical analysis is shown. The results obtained from the analysis agree with the published experimental results. The periodic solution obtained from the analysis corresponds in certain cases to the so-called myogenic vascular responds known in medicine.
