This study was conducted to investigate the far-infrared ray emission and electrical properties of woodceramics manufactured from pine sawdust at different carbonizing temperatures and resin impregnation ratios. The far-infrared ray emission values and emission energy values decreased as the carbonizing temperature increased, but there was little effect of resin impregnation ratio. The electric resistance decreased as the carbonizing temperature increased but did not show any further change with temperatures over 1000 degrees C. The electrical resistance was decreased with increased resin impregnation ratio. The findings suggest woodceramics might be useful as electromagnetic shielding materials, heating materials, and sensor materials.
