Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Cells for Advanced Applications in Displays and Photonics

摘要
Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals (FLC) are discussed for various applications in displays and photonics. We have considered new FLC electrooptic modes based on photoalignment technology: deformed helix ferroelectric (DHF) FLC, Electrically Suppressed Helix (ESH) and Voltage Controllable Diffraction (VCD) FLC Mode. New FLC display and photonics devises such as field sequential color (FSC) FLC displays, switches, grating, Fresnel lens, Circular Dammann (CD) grating are discussed. Certain comparison between ferroelectric and nematic LC devices is provided.
