Effect of load function on the results of low-cycle fatigue and fatigue crack propagation

摘要
Load of structures subjected to cyclic load is often not sinusoidal meanwhile most of the cyclic load tests are performed with sinus load function. It is need to have reliable material properties for the modern lifetime management. Thus the need for the material properties determined with non sinus load functions is justified. This publication shows the results and the conclusions which can be drafted from the low-cycle fatigue and fatigue crack propagation tests carried out with triangle, sinus, trapeze and rectangle load functions.
