摘要
This article discusses nucleic acid detection methods, such as hyblidization strategies and polymerase chain reaction, both of which were introduced into the veterinary clinical laboratory at the end of the twentieth century. Additionally, the manuscript focuses on future gene-based diagnostic methods, most likely being developed for veterinary applications. The principle, advantage, and disadvantage of the ligase chain reaction; transcription-based amplification; strand displacement amplification; transcription-mediated amplification; and Q beta replicase amplification are discussed.
