Simulation of the light collection process in position-sensitive scintillation detectors

摘要
The light collection process in a position-sensitive scintillation detector is simulated. The detector studied is constructed according to the Anger scheme using NaI(Tl) single crystal and 19 photomultipliers for energies of ionizing electrons ranging from 0.1 to 2 MeV. The spatial resolution at the detector center as a function of energy of gamma-quanta and the total light collection as a function of scintillation coordinates are obtained for various reflection coefficients of the light-reflecting detector coating. The effect of the thickness of the ''smoothing'' glass disk on the total light collection of the detector and on light collection variations is evaluated.
