摘要
This study aims to find empirical evidence about the relationship of Mastery of Diction and Creativity with the Ability of Student Speech of Class VII JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 5 Serang City. This research is supported also by previous studies. The method of research using correlation method with the number of sample as many as 182 people. The research instruments consist of diction mastery tests, creativity tests and speech-ability tests. Furthermore, to test the hypothesis about the relationship between diction mastery with speech ability, test the hypothesis about the relationship between creativity with speech ability using simple correlation technique and simple linear regression technique. While to test the hypothesis of diction mastery and creativity together with the ability to make speech using multiple correlation techniques and multiple linear regression techniques. All tests are calculated using the SPSS 17.0 for Windows program. Based on the results of research, obtained some things that can be used as a conclusion, including: There is a positive and significant relationship between the mastery diction with the ability to make a speech. The correlation between the mastery of diction with speech ability is 0, 437 (enough category), there is a positive and significant correlation between diction mastery with speech ability. The correlation value between creativity with speech ability is 0.880 (high category), there is a positive and significant relationship between creativity with the ability to make a speech. The correlation value between diction mastery and creativity together with the ability to speak is 0.470 (enough category), there is a positive and significant relationship between diction mastery and creativity together with the ability to make a speech.
