摘要
Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are increasingly being used in the form of externally bonded reinforcement for purposes of repair and strengthening of deteriorating and under-strength concrete structures. Due to the criticality of these systems, and the potential for deterioration of the rehabilitated system components if specific requirements are not met, there is a need for the development and implementation of effective methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) that can assess the response at both a systems and local level. This paper reviews currently available techniques focusing on their applicability for rapid use in the field. It is shown that although a number of techniques meet the overall requirements, none is at a stage of development such that it can be directly used with great effectiveness. Critical research and development needs are identified as a result of this review.
