Text-based Testing Environment for Voice-based Services

摘要
With increase in the number of the Al based smart speakers, researches are developing and implementing voice-based services. However, it is critical to test the services in the development phase. During testing, the input is provided as human speech, and the responses are verified to check if the voice-based service is performing as intended. However, when the number of test cases are significantly large, this approach would be highly time consuming. Therefore, to address this limitation, we develop a novel testing environment, which utilizes text-based test input data obtains responses in text format. The proposed system was used to test voice-based services in smart speakers. This work presents the findings of the proposed TT4V tool, which is based on the Google Assistant platform.
