摘要
The study examined poverty alleviation through extension education among Fulani pastoralists in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. Demographic characteristics of the pastoralists revealed that most of them (73.3%) were between the age of thirty-one and sixty years, all were males, 92.4% were married and 81.9% had no formal education. All of them were Muslims and their household size ranged from two to ten members. The study further revealed that their settlement had no infrastructure facilities and only 20.9% of them were aware of extension agents but none of them had any contact with extension agents. Cattle sales ranked first among economic/empowerment activities embarked upon and lack of capital ranked first among constraints facing them in cattle production activities. Sequel to the findings of the study, it is recommended that government should provide grazing reserves with full complementary facilities, and extension delivery system should be strengthened as a means of imparting management skills and improved technologies to farmers so that the respondents prolonged stay in the poverty bracket can be ameliorated.
