摘要
Two floating breakwater models (1) Perforated floating breakwater (P.F.B.W.) and (2) Cage floating breakwater (C.F.B.W.) are considered to study the wave transmission coefficients, sway, heave and roll responses. Experiments are carried out on the P.F.B.W. using perforated plates with 8%, 11% and 17% openings and with 3 plates and 5 plates. The effect of percentage of opening and spacing of plates on the transmission coefficient and responses are studied. Similarly on the C.F.B.W. using 2 rows and 3 rows of cylindrical pipes, the effect of number of rows of cylindrical pipes and mooring inclination on the performance of the model are studied. The transmission coefficients and responses of the two models are compared and observed that the transmission coefficients of the P.F.B.W with 3 plates with 1cm diameter holes at 1.5cm clear spacing are the least.
