摘要
A survey was conducted to study the factors influencing the social impact of Internet use. The influence of greater Internet use on psychological well-being and social involvement in low-income adults and dependence on race and other factors was also analyzed. It was observed from the survey results that Internet use has no effect on the psychological well-being and social involvement regardless of how Internet use was measured. The low-income families view Internet as information tool, instead of a a communication tool. Narrowing the digital divide, the Internet may become an important communication tool for low-income families as well.
