摘要
A popular trend in urban neighbourhoods is to convert "loft" style spaces into apartments. In these cases, an upgrade is necessary to meet requirements similar to new buildings. But it has also been an increasing interest to rebuild timber floor constructions in single family houses and other types of buildings to improve the sound insulation due to comfort reasons or new application of the spaces. For several objects, sound insulation properties have been measured before and after an upgrade of the timber floor constructions. The paper will present some typical, former types of Norwegian floor constructions and the impact sound insulation measurement results from these objects. The paper will focus on the sound insulation improvement. Theoretically calculations based on analytical methods have also been carried out and the methods will be presented briefly. Comparison will be given between the measurement and calculation results.
