Effect of surface polymerization on the dispersing and sintering of ultrafine ceramic powders

摘要
Surface modification of the ultrafine ZrO2 powders was achieved by ultrasonic assisted emulsion polymerization and low temperature plasma polymerization. The modified ZrO2 powders showed better dispersion and higher sintering rate than the as-received ZrO2 powders. The mechanism of the improvement of sintering rate by surface polymerization was explained.
