摘要
A simple structure for all-optical buffering based on re-circulating loop is described. Semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) are used as switching gates in order to store or route the packet to the buffer output. More complex photonic digital functionalities are also proposed considering the SOA-based variable optical buffer as basic block.
