E-mail: foliveira@uenf.br The reproductive factor constitutes important portion of the creation systems being the ruffian an essential tool for the development flocks artificial insemination. With the objective of determining the age and angle of inclination ideals in surgeries of lateral deviation of penises and prepuces of calves for preparing them as ruffians, 27 cross breeders calves, with ages among 2 to 10 months, were divided in three groups according to age from 2 to 4, 5 at 7 and 8 to 10 months, where via the surgery of three animals of each group the foreskins were fastened in three inclination angles (150, 300 and 450). Measurements were accomplished to determine changes on suffered angles due to the growth of the animals, in agreement with each pre-certain angle and age when surgical procedures were done. It was observed, that as smaller angle inclination, minor is the change that happens in the angle after surgery. Age of the animals when they were submitted to the surgery, was not significant factor for changes in the angle of penis inclinations. Significant changes in the angle in relation to age or the angle in that notices the penises of the animals were not observed. Animals with the prepuce more prominent also have some modifications in the degree inclination, in spite of not been observed statistical differences in relation to the degree of crossbreeding of the animals.
