摘要：
The history and development of many aspects of our subject were explored in the 2007 Conference Symposium honoring Dr. Spencer H. Bush, and these have suggested several aspects that will be developed further in this Symposium. These include introduction of fracture mechanics and risk analysis concepts into the Boiler Code, improved NDE reproducibility and reliability through both domestic and international programs, and application of failure databases. In addition, discussion will include introduction of statistical analysis of failure data and integration of prevention methodology with maintenance engineering.
