Collision-induced absorption near the 227 nm Hg line in the Hg+Ar mixture

摘要：
Collision induced absorption band appearing on the shortwave-lenght side of the forbidden mercury line (lambda 227 nm) in the presence of argon is observed for the first time. Absolute absorption coefficient determined experimentally is compared with the theoretical band profile calculated using the recently derived semiempirical potential energy curve for the excited D(3)1 state and the induced dipole transition moment.
