摘要
The extragalactic background light (EBL) provides important constraints on models for the origin of galaxies, stars, metals, and dust in the universe. It is also a source of opacity for ultrahigh energy cosmic ray nuclei and photons. This contribution reviews the current observational status of the EEL in the 0.1 to 1000 mu m wavelength regime, and examines its cosmological implications.
