摘要
The role of the under layer on surface smoothness and friction for a double-layered particulate tape was investigated, A smooth-surfaced under layer is obtained by highly dispersing particles in the under layer, which makes the surface of the double-layered tape smoother than that of the single-layered magnetic tape, The friction coefficient of the double-layered tape is lower than that of the single-layered tape despite its smoother surface. In addition, it is steady after storage under an accelerated condition, because lubricant is prone to be supplied toward the surface from the under layer.
