Construct APS system planning reference models from a process perspective: a case study for information manufacturing industries

摘要
Due to fierce market competition, die life cycle of computer products is shorter than other products which caused die supply and demand changing quickly. If the IT industry still applies MRP for production planning, it cannot response to customer's orders quickly. Hence, it is necessary to adopt Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) System. The goal of APS is to solve a complicated supply chain planning and scheduling problem. This paper discusses die related issues of APS system implementation for IT industry and develops an implementation process of APS system. The research applies ARIS's eEPC model to establish the reference models of APS system application. Finally, we construct an APS planning reference model to APS system implementation for the IT industry.
