Production of multiwall carbon nanotubes in the modified pore system of mesoporous silicates

摘要
Carbon nanotubes were produced in the pore system of MCM-41 type mesoporous silicates by heat treatment in the absence of metal catalysts. We have showed that multimall nanotubes were produced both in regular and expanded MCM-41 pore systems. Contrary to this, in the pores of spherical MCM-41 samples, no nanotube formation was observed probably due to the less organized hexagonal silicate structure. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
