Human rights, civil society and nongovernmental organizations: The nexus in Bangladesh

Before addressing the main goals of this paper, which, are to highlight key human rights issues that relate to social and economic development in Bangladesh, explore the roles of civil society and NGOs in promoting and safeguarding such rights, and identify challenges these two groups face, this paper will briefly define human rights, civil society, and NGOs in order to place these concepts in the context of Bangladesh.
