Solid-phase interaction of C60 fullerene with poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)

It was shown that the solid-phase interaction of C-60 fullerite with a polymer takes place during the joint grinding of powders, A comparative analysis of the absorption electronic spectra of the aqueous and chloroform solutions of C-60-polymer complexes prepared by various methods was performed using known data for C-60 fullerene obtained by vibrational spectroscopy. It was found that the fullerene-polymer complex synthesized by a method, involving an evaporative concentration of solution, is characterized by the formation of a local bond of the donor-acceptor type. In a complex of the same composition prepared without a solvent, the bonds of the hydrophobic type are uniformly distributed over the surface of the C-60 molecule.
