Microstructure-related spacing and length of the oxygenation a/c-cracks in standard top-seeded melt-grown YBCO bulk superconductors

In the present work we visualized the cracks in the {100} type planes which are formed during the oxygenation of top-seeded melt-grown (TSMG) YBCO bulk superconductors and counted their spacing end length. Both parameters of the oxygenation a/c-cracks depend on the distance from the seed. Changes of fracture toughness with 211 concentration and induced thermal dilatation stresses have the most significant effect on the spacing and length of the oxygenation a/c-cracks in the sample with optimized trapped field properties.
