摘要：
In the title compound, [Cd2Cr2O8(C12H8N2)(4)]center dot 2H(2)O, which was obtained by hydrothermal reaction of CdCO3 and phenanthroline with K2CrO4 at 393 K, two distorted Cd(N4O2) octahedra are linked through mu(2)-bridging chromate anions, forming a centrosymmetric tetranuclear eight-membered ring complex. The water molecules link the chromate O atoms via intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds. These aggregates pack to a three-dimensional network through weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot pi hydrogen-bonding contacts.
