Job Search Behavior, Networking, and Outcomes among Employed and Unemployed Italian New Graduate Nurses

At the international level, increased concern regarding unemployment ratios among newly graduated nurses has been reported. Differences in job search behavior and networking, among employed and unemployed newly graduated nurses, were analyzed. Non-employed nurses were significantly older, foreign-born, and with a lower academic performance. Job search and networking behavioral differences emerged between employed and unemployed groups. Nurturing a network as well as implementing effective job searching strategies may reduce the length of new graduates' unemployment.
