The purpose of the water management concept as introduced by Mr. Victor Hansen was to investigate the sheet-forming process on the single-wire machine and ultimately replace conjecture with observation and knowledge in its design and operation. The fundamentals presented in his writings still apply. ''Practical Aspects'' is offered as an addendum and focuses upon the operation and design of wet end drainage elements.
