摘要
This article presents a method of analysis for deriving expressions of the rolling compliance for a system of two elastic particles bonded by a thin layer of elastic or visco-elastic binder. The governing equations of rolling compliance for this system are Fredholm integral equations of the second type for which it is very difficult to find closed-form solutions. The method of analysis is proposed to derive closed-form compliances in the form of the upper and lower bounds. The best estimate of rolling compliance is then derived based on the upper and lower bound solutions. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
