In the paper the post-critical behaviour of sandwich cylindrical shells is analysed. The possibility of stabilisation of that behaviour by changing the shape of the meridian of one face is discussed. Based on example of a family of shells of constant capacity the influence of the meridional curvature of the face on the post-buckling behaviour of the shell is shown. Stable equilibrium paths of the selected shells are presented. The dependency between the shape of the meridian of the shell on the buckling load is pointed out. The influence of the mechanical properties of the material of the faces and their thickness on the behaviour of the shell is discussed. All analyses are performed with the use of finite element method.
