Dipole moment and inner rotation in segmented linear polyesters containing silbenzylidene fragments

摘要
For silbenzylidene-containing LC polyester and its low molecular-mass analogs in chloroform solutions at, dipole moments were estimated 25-55 degrees C according to the Buckingham theory in the concentration range corresponding to molecular disperse solutions. For the LC polyester and its low-moletular-mass analog, the Values of dipole moments were estimated to be equal to similar to 7.2 and similar to 4 D at 20 degrees C, whereas the correlation factors g of Kirkwood dipoles were equal to 3.2 and 2.0, respectively. As compared with polysilarylenes (g similar to 0.9), an increased dipole correlation is explained by an enhanced electron interactions of silicon atoms with the neighboring chain fragments. An increased values of the dipole moments of the above compounds are associated with an intermolecular association.
