摘要：
An attempt has been made to gather the information on dry season, aridity, desertification and drought related problems in the Indian sub-continent. The spatial complexity and the temporal variability have been briefly reviewed. Distinction has been maintained between climatic droughts and man-induced magnification of water shortage through faulty land use.
