Thermodynamic and Kinetic Investigations of Cr (VI) Adsorption on Layered Double Hydroxides

摘要
Adsorption thermodynamics and kinetics of Cr (VI) adsorption onto layered double hydroxides (LDH) were studied. The results indicated that the adsorption of Cr (VI) onto LDH was a spontaneous exothermic process and has Freundlich-type adsorption isotherms. Furthermore, the adsorption was an entropy-decreasing process and in good agreement with the Pseudo-second-order kinetics model. Film diffusion appeared to be the rate determining step.
