Modified Current Prediction Control Strategy for Suppressing Commutation Torque Ripple in Brushless DC Motor

摘要
Commutation torque ripple exists in brushless DC motor because of its unique control strategy. This paper presents detailed analysis on mechanism of commutation torque ripple in brushless DC motor. By means of equalizing the rising slope of incoming phase and falling slope of outgoing phase current, the commutation torque ripple can be minimized effectively. The modified current prediction control strategy combines the PWM-PWM method with the current prediction control strategy to keep the non-commutation phase current constant. This is also a modified PWM-ON control method. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated by Simulink, which minimizes the commutation torque ripple obviously.
