Technical developments and applications of coater systems

Increasing demands places on steel and aluminium strip in terms of flatness, surface and coating quality have led to the technical sophistication of coater systems. As these systems are installed at very different positions within the strip treatment lines, they must be flexibly adjustable to the actual operating conditions. For continuous coating operations roll coaters are increasingly used. They ensure a uniform coating and reproducible thickness over the complete strip length and width, despite wavy strip and rough areas in the strip surface, and they can use a wide range of different coating media.
