摘要
Bleaching is a process that aims to eliminate the lignin content (delignification) in pulp or fiber to obtain high and stable color brightness. The fiber bleaching process usually use reactive chemicals to dissolve the lignin content in the fiber and to obtain a high degree of brightness. One of the chemical used in bleaching process is Hydrogen Peroxide. The higher the amount of Hydrogen Peroxide used as a bleaching agent, the higher the reduction of weight percentage of the fabric. In the current study, hydrogen peroxide at different concentrations of 20 ml, 40 ml and 60 ml were used in bleaching process. The analysis results showed that the higher the concentration of hydrogen peroxide used, the higher the white degree. Additionally, the stiffness and tensile strength of the fabric also increased. In the bleaching process, the use of Hydrogen Peroxide is also affected by the use of chemical called Sky Stabilyzer, which serves as an agent to slow down the decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide during bleaching process so that it can produce a maximum white degree.
