Oxalic Acid Treating of ZSM-5 Zeolite for the Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity of TiO2/HZSM-5

摘要
NaZSM-5 treated by oxalic acid was used as support to prepare TiO2/HZSM-5 composite photocatalysts. The structure, phase composition, morphology, and photocatalytic activity of the photocatalysts were studied. XRD pattern of TiO2 shows typical anatase TiO2 phase with the most preferred (101) plane. Titanium is in its full oxidation state in TiO2 and 60% TiO2/3HZSM-5. The electron binding energies of Ti2p(1/2) and Ti2p(3/2) in the 60% TiO2/3HZSM-5 shift to low energy end, while the binding energies of Al and Si have very similar values in both 3HZSM-5 and 60% TiO2/3HZSM-5. The supported TiO2/3HZSM-5 shows different activity with increasing TiO2 content. The maximum degradation activity is found on 60% TiO2/3HZSM-5. Methyl orange is almost fully degraded on the composite after 2 h of irradiation, but degradation rate on the pure TiO2 is only 51.2%.
