A new IR Laser Sag Meter prototype for remote on line monitoring of high voltage overhead line: a special application

摘要
Optical systems offer a decisive solution to monitor critical parameters of the T&D network. These systems can operate safely and, therefore, they are suitable for integration and security application to on-service electrical equipment. The high precision attainable by optical devices can offer the possibility to validate the measurements obtained by using commercial instruments or innovative measurement methods. In this work we report an example of a RSE optical system ad-hoc developed for the measurement of the clearance to ground of overhead power line conductors, that has been realized for checking the performances of commercial and innovative systems for the same measurement.
